The members of GDO honored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through a day of service, servant leadership, and sisterhood. GDO, in partnership with The Village Family Food Pantry, created and donated Homeless weather protection/Cold- Flu Kits for the community.
The ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Gamma Delta Omega Chapter volunteered at The Echoes of Joy Community Day in partnership with the City of Portsmouth to prepare and serve the community with bagged lunches and health information.
Pink Goes Red
Tribute to
Frederick Douglass

The ladies of Gamma Delta Omega wore red in support of Healthy Heart Month. Taking care of your heart is a serious matter!

The members of Gamma Delta Omega Chapter, community partner Autumn Care of Portsmouth, and guests experienced the power of Frederick Douglass being brought to life through a living history performance.
Youth Leadership Institute
CHIPP

Gamma Delta Omega’s Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) is off to an amazing start! The youth and their parents attended the information session, participated in a group icebreaker, completed their applications, engaged with members of the chapter, and made executive decisions on which programs they would like to complete.
CHIPP provides weekend and holiday meals for children within our local communities and is targeted to be Alpha Kappa Alpha’s most ambitious childhood program to date. On March 1, our chapter President, Vice President, and the Empower Our Families chairman distributed these bags to a local elementary school in Portsmouth, VA.
